Who We Are
Hello everyone! I'm isleep2late, the developer of Hackmons Hub. I've been involved with hacking Pokemon recreationally ever since I was 13 years old. Over the years, I created a YouTube series called "Showcasing Hackmons" that became popular with viewers, and I continue that series in different ways today.
This website was born from a passion for the Hackmons community and a desire to provide resources that were scattered across various forums and websites. I wanted to create a centralized "Hackmons Hub" where players could find everything they need in one place.
Our Mission
"The purpose of Hackmons.com is to grow the community of Pokemon players who enjoy hacked Pokemon, and to introduce new players to this universe. Whether you are a competitive Showdown player, a casual enjoyer, or anywhere in-between, this is a place where we can all come together and learn from each other, work with each other, and play against each other."
Why Hackmons Hub?
I built this website because I felt there was a genuine need in the Pokemon community. While there were resources for BH/PH players, many sets were scattered across different platforms, and there wasn't a specific "Hackmons Hub" you could go to for all your needs.
Our Tools
The website's primary focus initially was the Tools section - namely Type Coverage, Team Builder, and Weakness Checkers. These tools include features that were mostly lacking in the community:
- Inter-generational support
- Scrappy Mode and Tinted Lens support
- Niche moves like Flying Press and Freeze-Dry with their own Type Coverage
- EV Optimizer with Fur Coat support
Our Movesets
The moveset database was designed to document common movesets and provide insights that only seasoned Hackmons players would know - going beyond what traditional resources offer. We've enhanced this experience with community features like comments and ratings to encourage high-quality content submission.
A Community for Everyone
I come from a casual background, and I believe the vast majority of Pokemon players (like 90% of YouTube viewers) play casually or don't focus heavily on competitive play. What I want to do is two-fold:
Introduce New Players
Give newcomers a fresh perspective on Hackmons and make it accessible to everyone.
Welcome All Backgrounds
Provide a safe space for both competitive and non-competitive players alike.
Working Together
Let me be very clear: This website is NOT trying to compete with any other organization. I respect Smogon, PokemonDB, Veekun, Marriland, and other communities. I want to work with other communities and unify resources for the various Hackmons formats while bringing more awareness to these communities.
