Wall (Gen 2)

Lugia is the premier wall in GSC PH. It is very bulky, quite fast, and has a good typing. It has the bulk to survive boosted super-effective hits easily. Lugia lacks power so it makes up for it with Horn Drill which can OHKO everything except Gengar and Misdreavus. Whirlwind is a reliable way to beat setup and substitutes. Resttalk is cause spore is everywhere, and a lot of mons try to hit Lugia with Thunder which has a 30% para chance.

Lugia's a good scout cause it won't die to most moves. You can use it early to get opponent to explode or waste belly drum or something. Horn drill is a free progress attempt if you bring it into something slower or something that can't damage Lugia enough, which is most mons. Try to keep it healthy so it can phase a boosted mon.

Gengar and Misdreavus are immune to Horn Drill, Lugia can't touch them. Raikou and Jolteon outspeed Lugia and 2HKO with Thunder. Aerodactyl has a 30% flinch with Rock Slide. Rock Slide 2HKOs Lugia at +2 and OHKOs Lugia at +6.
