Ultra Shadow Beast

This is a test moveset to ensure the website functionality works. It seems fun but has not been thoroughly tested. I initially proposed this for Gen 7, and the initial draft of it had Wonder Guard but as was pointed out by others, there may not be much utility in giving Necrozma Wonder Guard. It is still weak to Sheer Cold, which means that No Guarders will not have to fight through WG (one of the main reasons to run WG), and you do carry a lot of other weaknesses.

An older iteration of this moveset had Assault Vest, but it was postulated that Assault Vest may not be the best option for an item, as the Z-crystal is probably a much better item, almost giving Necrozma a "5th move", and offering something far more useful than boosting Necrozma's already-weak Special Defense.

Therefore, the decision was made to give Ultra Necrozma Shadow Tag and the Z-stone. Shadow Tag is incredibly useful, as one of the counters to Clangorous Soulblaze is an opponent switching into Wonder Guard or a Fairy-type. It's true that you can just replace Soublaze with Extreme Evoboost, but I personally like the fact that Clangorous Soulblaze is an attacking move that gets STAB (Same-Type Attack Bonus).

Because this set has not been thoroughly tested or scrutinized, I am flagging this as a Casual moveset for now. Feel free to filter out casual movesets in the database using the Filter function at the top of the Movesets database page.

The 4 move-types give great coverage. According to our Type Coverage Checker, Psychic-Dragon-Steel-Fighting provides Super Effective hits to 445 Pokemon in the game, 471 Neutral, and only 4 resisted (the Aegislash family, including the Sword and Shield modes). When filtering by Meta-relevant Pokemon, you are super effective to over half of the meta (33 S.E., 29 neutral, and Doublade as the only "meta-relevant" Pokemon that resists all 4 of these moves). You can alternatively replace Close Combat with Moongeist Beam, but in that situation, you will be resisted by Bisharp (32 S.E., 30 Neutral), so you just have to decide which Pokemon you care about depending on the rest of your team.

If you're going to use this set, it's best to find a counter to No Guard Sheer Cold. Sunsteel Strike is super effective against Wonder Guard Mega Audino, but that is a Pokemon that can still present as a threat. My advice: If you decide to use this set, use it as a revenge-killer that safely sets-up with Clangorous Soulblaze, and then proceeds to sweep with a +1 boost on 3 offensive coverage attacks.
