Description
Simple Victory Dance carries enough initial power and speed to defeat most offensive threats that come in on you, with +2 Adamant Jaw Lock having a 62.5% chance to OHKO Mega Gardevoir after a round of Rocks for instance. Encore confounds walls, letting you get past even Pokemon like Fur Coat Fighting-types by forcibly running them out of Strength Sap PP, and also prevents RegenVests from trying anything, lest they get outright removed. Jaw Lock is used because it has no immunities and the trapping helps against both walls and Imposter. Many sidegrade options exist, including running another Dark-type over Arceus, but this specific version has the most overall consistency. This also isn't to be confused with the 2 attacks Jaw Lock set, which is a different thing with a different set of counters.

Usage Tips
Use this on offense, probably bring it in later because if walls are lower on HP, they'll have to recover against you, which means you can more easily remove them with Jaw Lock + Encore. Arceus should almost never be directly switched in, as it can't beat lots of things if it's weakened, and immediate recovery is an area where it struggles, unless it's the rare Shore Up variant.
Jaw Lock traps you when you click it, but this trapping goes away after the opposing mon leaves play. If you get hit with e.g. Salt Cure, feel free to kill the Salt Cure user with trapping + Encore, then switch out once it's gone.
Counters & Checks
Fur Coat special Fairy-types like Mega Audino and Arceus-Fairy are the hardest counters, as even with Shore Up you don't have enough time to set up to +6 and then kill them. Topsy-Turvy is a pain if it doesn't lose immediately to Encore. FC Fighting- and Dark-types can lose quickly if they get Encored into something unfavorable, but if not then you take forever to actually kill them, especially if they're running Strength Sap as the recovery move; you can also get crit by Triple Arrows. PP is an issue and means that you should probably have some imposter-proofer in the back, though Lunar Dance somewhat amends this. This set relies heavily on matchup and surprise value, so if the opponent has preparation and is familiar with it, there isn't much you can do.
